I recently had an amazing photo session with Corey & Teri and Corey's motorcycle. I wanted to get some dramatic lighting shots and then some nice shots of Corey & Teri outside. The day was cloudy with sun in and out, which can be challenging. I wanted to catch some of the drama in the sky. Corey & Teri were a great couple to work with. Very easy going and relaxed. I had a truly enjoyable time photographing this great couple. Take a look!
Thanks for taking the time to look. If you would like to comment please do. Also, feel free to share on Facebook, Twitter etc. Thanks!
As a wedding & portrait photographer, capturing detail is critical. At every wedding event there are details of the wedding that have meaning and emotion to the bride, groom and/or family. Having knowledge of the emotional value that the details carry is extremely important and of course capturing those details in images is just as important. In many cases these detail images are captured using a technique called Macro photography. Macro Photography is extremely close-up photography, usually of very small subjects, in which the size of the subject in the photograph is equal to or greater than the life size of the object on the image.
An extension tube fits between the camera body and the lens to increase focal length that increases image size. I recently obtained a new extension tube as well as a close up lens filter kit.
I am a huge believer in practice, practice, practice! I am sure you remember the movie "Karate Kid" with "Pat" Morita and Ralph Macchio. Among other things, the movie professed practice & training to move towards perfection. I try to "practice" as much photography as possible, but not sure I achieve that goal, but I did want to practice my Macro photography with my new equipment. So here are a few images:
So, I hope you enjoy the images, and please share your thoughts in the comments section. Don't forget to check out my website at www.markfreyphotography.com as well as "Like" my Facebook page at www.facebook.com/markfreyphotography.

A couple of weeks ago I had the opportunity to attend the 8th Annual Central Florida Law Enforcement Car Show held at the Oviedo Mall. It was very well attended and lots of exotic muscle cars were on display. The Oviedo Photography Club, of which I am a member, was also present doing free portraits for the benefit of the Optamist Club. I had a great time taking some photographs of the amazing cars as well as volunteering time shooting portraits, along with other extremely talented members of the club.
The Oviedo Photo Club is a mix of professional, amateur, and photo enthusiasts. These very talented photographers volunteer time to photograph Oviedo events as well as attend field trips to expand our photographic experiences. I urge you to check out the website at www.OviedoPhotoClub.com to browse the images. If you are interested in attending a meeting, go to the website and read all about it.
The two images below were taken by club members.

Happy New Year! I hope everyone had a great holiday and wish you all a happy healthy New Year!
I'm back after a 3-month hiatus. I have been busy with designing a brand new website and investigating hosting options for the site as well as designing a new blog site. I hope you will check it out at www.markfreyphotography.com.
Linda and I were on vacation during the holiday visiting family (inlaws and my son’s family) in Georgia,
Our Granddaughter, Jada
then flew to Indianapolis, Indiana visiting my daughter. Our two youngest grandsons flew out to Indianapolis to meet us and spend time with their Aunt and us. It was the first time they flew and also the first time they saw (and played in) snow. The day after Christmas, Indianapolis had a blizzard with accumulation of approximately 7-9 inches. Wow, that was fun! That morning, during the heaviest snowfall, my daughter & I ventured out to the local department store to get a sled. As we were driving to the store I had second thoughts about it. We could barely see 3 feet in front of us, and the streets had not been plowed at that point. My daughter has developed a keen skill for driving in snow, even though she grew up in Florida.
Now, I haven’t been out sledding since high school. What a great time, but cold!!
During my time away from blogging, I also did a few photo shoots of infants; a handsome 3 month old boy and a georgous 1 week old girl. I really enjoyed these photo shoots and look forward to doing more.
So, hopefully, I will be posting a blog at least twice a month and I ask that you check out my website as well as "Like" my Facebook page at www.facebook.com/markfreyphotography.
Thanks for taking the time, and I appreciate your support and referring your friends & family!
